La América toda.

  • El Taller Latino Americano 215 E 99th Street New York United States (map)

America is not a country, it is a continent, and when that continent was "discovered", everything was already named in Guarani, in Mapuzungun, in Quechua, in Navaho. With this conviction, we have been teaching español de las Américas for 40 years at El Taller. Join us to sing along with our guest artists, our students and community because La America toda is a celebration.

About the artists:

Anahí Rayén Mariluán’s lyrics are characterized by being written mostly in Mapuzungun tongue, the language of Mapuche people. Anahí uses traditional Mapuche music as a source to approach contemporary sounds, while combining Mapuche instruments with atmospheres from different roots. Anahí has also been invited to participate in the Native Cinema Showcase 2019 to be celebrated in the Smithsonian Museum.
