TANGO JAZZ DUO
Vocalist Sabrina Lastman performs Tango - Jazz with pianist and composer Fernando Otero.

"Her imaginative sounds, her rich range of sound, her musical vocabulary, and her creativity are vital and profound".
—Anat Shamgar, Jerusalem, 2005.
www.sabrina-lastman.com.
"Otero is a seriously talented pianist, and his orchestrations are equal parts Bernard Herrmann and Charlie Parker. That is, they alternate between jagged suspenseful crescendos and long, sinuous melodies. This music bounds out of the speakers and leaps into every corner of the room at once, exhilarating but also bewildering – it’s not tango, jazz, or classical, but some brand-new combination of all three. Fernando Otero has given the listener his best, most focused and fascinating ideas all in one high-powered dose. All that remains is for unsuspecting jazz fans to delve in and discover the unique sonic treasures on display here". —Phil Freeman, “PLAN”, Jazziz Magazine, 2005, USA.

Known as "The Poet of the Guitar", FRANCESC DE PAULA SOLER's extensive
international activity as a performer has brought critics to hail him
as one of the most notable names in the guitar world. His concerts
have been broadcasted on radio and television both in Europe and the
United States. He has received numerous prizes and awards, including
special recognition from the U.S. House of Representatives (2001 &
2002) for his artistic merits.
The Washington Post wrote: "Soler showed himself to be unusually
sensitive to color and the rhapsodic rise of the phrases... He played
dazzling solos with his left hand on the fingerboard, unleashed a battery
of right-hand percussive effects on the body of the guitar, and engaged
in some creative pitch-bending on blues-tinged melodies."
Born into a well-known Spanish artistic family, Soler began to study
guitar at age 11, receiving highest honors at the prestigious "Conservatorio
Superior de Música" of Barcelona, Spain. He continued his postgraduate
studies with Andrés Segovia and also received guitar instruction from
Narciso Yepes, as well as from some of the most important Latin-American
guitarists.
