WHO IS ANIBAL AVILES?

Corporal Anibal Felipe Aviles Jr. grew up on W 108th Street, attended Booker T. Washington Junior High School and served his country as a Marine in Vietnam earning a Purple Heart and giving his life.

An installation dedicated to his memory, and the vibrant community of “Good Neighbors” between 106th- 110th Streets on Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues, is on view from September 1, 2022 for approximately two years at 111 W 108th Street between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues
